The subject-predicate predicate sentence
A subject-predicate phrase can serve as the predicate of the whole sentence.
The phrase tells us something about the sentence's main subject, or describes it.
The subject inside that phrase is usually:
a part of the main subject;
or connected to it.
Basic structure
主语 + 主谓短语
Main subject + subject-predicate phrase
That is: the second part explains or describes the first subject.
Examples
我的书包你看见了吗？
我的书包wǒ de shūbāomy schoolbag
你nǐyou
看见了吗？kànjiàn le ma?have you seen it?
Here 你看见了吗？ is the subject-predicate phrase, and it tells us about 我的书包.
弟弟手很小
弟弟dìdilittle brother
手shǒuhand
很小hěn xiǎovery small
Here 手很小 is the subject-predicate phrase. 手 is a part of his body, so it is connected to the main subject 弟弟.
这件事他知道
这件事zhè jiàn shìthis matter
他tāhe
知道zhīdàoknow
Here 他知道 is the subject-predicate phrase, telling us about 这件事.
