A 并列复句 (bìngliè fùjù) is made of two or more simple clauses that are related in meaning and parallel in structure.

What each one means

还(hái)also / what is more

也(yě)too

first statement，还 / 也 + second statement

Meaning: …, and also … or: …, … too.

我(Wǒ)喜(xǐ)欢(huan)这(zhè)个(ge)，也(yě)喜(xǐ)欢(huan)那(nà)个(ge)。

I like this one, and I like that one too.

我喜欢这个 + 也 + 喜欢那个 I like this one + too + like that one

我(wǒ)喜(xǐ)欢(huan)这(zhè)个(ge)I like this one

也(yě)too

喜(xǐ)欢(huan)那(nà)个(ge)like that one

Here 也 adds the second, parallel statement.

王(Wáng)老(lǎo)师(shī)是(shì)北(Běi)京(jīng)人(rén)，李(Lǐ)文(Wén)也(yě)是(shì)北(Běi)京(jīng)人(rén)。

Teacher Wang is from Beijing, and Li Wen is from Beijing too.

王老师是北京人 + 李文也 + 是北京人 Teacher Wang is from Beijing + Li Wen too + is from Beijing

王(Wáng)老(lǎo)师(shī)是(shì)北(Běi)京(jīng)人(rén)Teacher Wang is from Beijing

Here 也 says that two people share the same trait.

我(Wǒ)喜(xǐ)欢(huan)喝(hē)中(Zhōng)国(guó)茶(chá)，还(hái)喜(xǐ)欢(huan)吃(chī)中(Zhōng)国(guó)菜(cài)。

I like drinking Chinese tea, and I also like eating Chinese food.

Here 还 adds one more statement to the first.

Example:
