Meaning
既……又/也/还…… links two verbs, verb phrases or adjectives of the same kind. It says that two qualities or states hold at once. Both halves are normally either both positive or both negative.
Basic structure
既 + A，又/也/还 + B → both… and…
Examples
散步是生活中最简单的锻炼方法，既可以活动身体，又可以减肥。
Walking is the simplest exercise there is: it both moves the body and helps you lose weight.
会说话的人既容易交到朋友，也容易求得成功。
Someone who can talk well both makes friends easily and finds success more easily.
他那个人做事既不认真，动作还慢，这个工作这么重要，还是让别人做吧。
He's careless in his work and slow on top of it. This job matters — better let someone else do it.
When 又, 也 or 还?
她既漂亮又聪明。
She is both beautiful and clever.
他既喜欢中文，也喜欢日文。
He likes both Chinese and Japanese.
这家饭店既便宜，还很好吃。
This restaurant is cheap, and the food is delicious besides.
既……又…… → the commonest form.
既……也…… → a more neutral tone.
既……还…… → adds extra weight to the second quality.
既……又…… vs. 又……又……
这个房子既方便又便宜。
This flat is both convenient and cheap.
他又高又帅。
He's tall and good-looking.
既……又…… → more written and formal.
又……又…… → more spoken.
Remember:
既 always pairs with 又, 也 or 还.
A and B must be the same grammatical shape.
Both halves are normally positive, or both negative.
