即使……也……
jíshǐ… yě…
Meaning
即使……也…… means “even if…”, “even though…”, or “even… still…”.
It expresses that the result stays unchanged despite the condition. It is most often used for hypothetical situations, but it can also describe a real situation that already exists.
The second clause is usually introduced by 也.
Basic structure
即使 + A，也 + B
Subject + 即使 + A，也 + B
即使 may appear either before or after the subject of the first clause.
Hypothetical situation
即使下雨，我们也去。
Even if it rains, we'll go.
即使很贵，我也要买。
Even if it's expensive, I'll buy it.
Position of 即使
即使他不同意，我也会去。
Even if he doesn't agree, I'll still go.
他即使不同意，我也会去。
Even if he doesn't agree, I'll still go.
Both sentences mean the same thing.
Real situations
即使 can also emphasize a real situation that already exists.
你应该多回家看看老人，即使只是跟他们吃吃饭、聊聊天，他们也会觉得很幸福。
You should visit your parents more often. Even if you only have a meal or chat with them, they'll still feel very happy.

浪漫是即使晚上加班到零点，到家时，自己家里也还亮着灯。
