tǐng

Meaning

挺 is an adverb meaning “quite”, “rather”, “pretty”. Close to 很 in meaning, but far more natural in spoken Chinese.

挺 can also modify verbs, especially ones expressing feeling or preference such as 喜欢.

很 → neutral, the default intensifier. 挺 → more conversational, often for a positive impression.
